Dental Insurance Coverage

DENTAL INSURANCE COVERAGE: KiDDS Dental accepts most traditional dental insurance plans, but is not on all the Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) lists. Please ask our business office staff if you have a question about your insurance. As a courtesy to you we will file your insurance claim (currently at no charge), however, in order to process your insurance we will need a copy of your insurance card, insured’s birth date, and Social Security Number. Please remember that we can only ESTIMATE what your insurance will pay and are not responsible for any actual differences that arise. Dental Insurance is an agreement between you and the Insurance carrier and KiDDS Dental is not a participant in that agreement. We will advise you of treatment options regardless of your insurance but the choice of treatment is yours. Dental insurance is not designed by the carriers to cover everything that may be needed; it is only designed to offset the costs of your child’s/ children’s dental treatment. Ultimately, you are responsible for the costs of the treatment that you choose for your child/children and any dealing with any insurance reimbursement problems which arise because of HIPPA. Payment of your deductible and your co-payment amount is expected at the time of treatment unless prior arrangements are made.

Should your Insurance Company fail to honor the request for payment, any balance remaining becomes your responsibility. All account balances over 60 days will have a $5.00 statement processing fee added each time a statement is issued.

IF YOU ARE PAYING OUT OF POCKET: Payment is expected at the time services are rendered unless prior arrangements have been made. We do have discounts for payments made in advance for the total cost of estimated treatment and for payments made at the time of service. If you are considering  seeking coverage through Medicaid: Should you be considering applying for Medicaid assistance now or at any time in the future, please be aware that in this office we do not back bill Medicaid for prior dental costs incurred by you;  these are your responsibility.

IF YOUR CHILD/CHILDREN ARE COVERED BY MEDICAID: Presently KiDDS Dental is still accepting Medicaid. Please check with our business office personnel. If Medicaid does not cover the service or your child/children are ineligible, the cost of services will be your responsibility to pay. DIVORCED AND CUSTODY SITUATIONS: The responsibility for payment of services rendered to dependent children whose parents are divorced or in custody disputes rests with the parent seeking treatment. Any court ordered responsibility judgment must be determined between the individuals involved and cannot be settled by this office.

MISSED APPOINTMENTS: We expect the courtesy of a phone call 24 hours in advance if you are not able to keep an appointment that has been scheduled for your child(ren). If we have not received a courtesy phone call 24 hours in advance of the scheduled appointment we shall consider this to mean that you are no longer in need of dental service for your child to be provided by us and we will no longer schedule any dental appointments for them. However, upon your request we will provide copies of their dental records upon request from the new dentist that you have chosen.

PLEASE REMEMBER: Our patients with the lowest dental expenses over time are the ones who consistently keep their dental appointments, complete comprehensive treatment, maintain routine follow-up and follow good home care habits, and proper nutrition. If something is getting in the way of completing comprehensive dental care or routine follow-up please talk to us.
